Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American performer and actor who started her career through clever raps that tackled the issues of sexuality and race with a the most comical of perspectives. She then expanded into Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her very first music experience. She was a trumpet player. After a classical and jazz education her interest in hip-hop grew as a teen. In the college years, she remained focused on her studies and studied women's studies and journalism. While she was for a brief amount of time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. However, it wasn't until she graduated that she turned her attention on music. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet eventually landing on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also featured hit songs that went viral, such as the body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$. The second track linked into Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, published in the year 2015, and was an additional idea. Her resume contained both an author and musician. Now she was looking for a new career path in acting. She has appeared in films such as Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. In the year 2018 she got an array of noteworthy performances, which included Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she released In Fina We Trust.
